Christmas Twist Lasagna

Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
1 onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
2 tbsp tomato paste
1/2 cup red wine
1/2 cup dried cranberries
1 tsp ground nutmeg
Salt and pepper to taste
9 lasagna noodles, cooked
3 cups béchamel sauce
2 cups moz
Directions

In a large skillet, cook the ground beef, onion, and garlic over medium heat until the beef is thoroughly cooked. Drain any excess fat.
Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, red wine, dried cranberries, nutmeg, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 20 minutes, allowing the flavors to blend.
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
To assemble the lasagna, spread a layer of meat sauce in the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish. Place a layer of lasagna noodles over the sauce, then spread a layer of béchamel sauce over the noodles. Sprinkle a layer of mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses.
Repeat the layering process until all ingredients are used, ending with a generous layer of cheese on top.
Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
Garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.
